"Benrubi Gallery is thrilled to announce our first solo exhibition, «Intervals,» with gallery artist Xan Padrón. Padrón’s work is a meditation on the tempo of our lives. For our debut exhibition we will be showing a selection of his celebrated «Time Lapse» series. The series was born out of a solitary moment for the artist while making photographs for an earlier project «Motion City,» photographing from public buses. Padrón stepped off the bus and sat in stillness, watching the world move before him and was struck by the revelation of people and place, not just of who is passing by but what they reveal about the city they inhabit. In wonderment of the quotidian gestures and moments that make up the richness of our lives, he had found the heart of what became «Time Lapse.»”
