IMPRESSIONS CROISÉES: Xan Padrón & Séverine de La Chapelle

DELAMOUR Gallery Exhibit. Paris
September 4th-27th 2025
The exhibition “Impressions croisées” brings together the sensitive worlds of two contemporary artists.
With his emblematic series Time Lapse, Xan Padrón observes the world at street level. He settles in a city, chooses a single wall, and photographs passersby over a span of approximately two hours. By layering these snapshots, he creates dynamic urban portraits in which each silhouette becomes a note in the symphony of everyday life. His images reveal the rhythms of modern existence, the human flows that endlessly cross space- a visual memory of passing time.
In counterpoint, Séverine’s work stands outside of time and place. She sculpts paper with extreme precision, in a process akin to slow modeling, giving rise to abstract, delicate, often organic forms. Her patient, inward gesture reveals a living material, almost breathing. Each sculpture seems to emerge from silence, evoking vegetal, mineral, or floating shapes that defy identification.
“Impressions croisées” sets two distinct yet complementary artistic approaches in dialogue (…) Through this encounter between the photographic image and sculpted material, the exhibition offers a suspended space- a meeting point between flow and presence, speed and stillness, seeing and sensing.
